EVANS POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Uniform Patrol Division consists of 23 police officers. It consists of 16 police officers and 4 police lieutenants who are full-time Civil Service. During the summer months, when activity is at its' peak, the division is supplemented by 5 part-time police officers.

Patrol is the primary activity of the Police Department's uniformed force. Its' objectives are equivalent to the total police responsibility and include:

• Prevention and detection of crime;
• Protection of life and property;
• Apprehension of offenders; and
• Control of traffic.
